An amazing multiple-level shop of antiques that could take hours to wander. A rare treasure trove.
An amazing four floors stuffed full of good quality, high end antiques. It is mostly furniture but there are loads of other stuff as well.
22 Howe St, Edinburgh EH3 6TG, UK – 0131 226 4800
I happened upon this place with my daughter and spent a very relaxed half an hour or more exploring. There's a really good mix of stuff over 3 floors and although I'm no expert, a lot of the prices seemed reasonable. The guy who was in attendance was very helpful and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit in my opinion - we'll be back!
Lovely antique shop with eclectic selection of interesting merchandise. Found a lovely Victorian ring for a good price. Would happy return and browse again!
49 Cockburn St, Edinburgh EH1 1BS, UK – 0131 226 3391
Just stumbled across this little shop. It is a very tiny antique shop with lots of interesting things (at very reasonable prices). The couple who were running the shop were really friendly and kind. We loved having a chat with them. From Joe of York and Nelli of Finland!!!
Very tiny shop. Only around 4 adults will fit in here at a time. They have a good selection of smaller-type antiques and some cool military items. The staff was very friendly and the prices decent too.
2 Torphichen St, Edinburgh EH3 8JQ, UK – 0131 228 5228
Had individual eyelash extensions done here last week and I LOVE THEM. Very professional and great service. Was a bit nervous getting them done but the process was so calming I actually feel asleep for a bit. They are still looking amazing. Highly recommend this place!
I highly recommend going to visit Imarny Beauty Salon - the staff are so lovely and do a fantastic job. I have been going there since February for Electrolysis and have seen amazing results. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

A one stop beauty salon with a great team of girls all highly trained and experienced. This hidden gem in stockbridge is a family run business that really goes the extra mile to make you feel and look wonderful.
Fantastic service and excellent attention to detail. These ladies really know what they're doing!
Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre, Ocean Dr, Edinburgh EH6 6JJ, UK – 0131 554 7732
As an avid reader I must admit, I prefer other Waterstones shops. Avoid if your dislike pricey and bad food, rude staff and loud children.
Got a good selection of books and we'll get you they will get you whatever you ask for they can also place orders for you this may take some time but work with the weight
53-62 South Bridge, Edinburgh EH1 1YS, UK – 0131 622 8222
I absolutely love this bookshop. The selection of non-fiction is the best I've come across outside London and the staff are fantastic. It's great that there is a place to get a coffee and sit for a few hours on comfy couches and read a big bunch of maths and physics textbooks.
U can buy good quality books here an puzzles plus jigsaw games any other things as well
3a-4a Haddington Pl, Edinburgh EH7 4AE, UK – 0131 556 5897
Wonderful book store, we were living close by and went here three times, each time greeted warmly with free offers like white wine in the evening, tea when it was raining outside and good company. Also neighbour to a really great antique book store. Truly felt like home. If I'm ever in Edinburgh again I'll definitely return. As a wise man once said: "This do in remembrance of me".
It's a very nice little store, perfect for book worms and old fashioned writers (the writing machines were really inspiring!) I loved the very warm welcome, it's not just another store, it's a nice place to go. You can sit in different spots with different atmosphere to read or just enjoy a chat. I saw gorgeous editions and interesting books. Definitively in my to do list next time I'm in Edinburgh !

Nice place to buy fluids and basic parts. Staff are really helpful. It looks closed from the outside but don't be put off.
Quick, knowledgeable guys and clean. Always will recommend them.
41 St Clair St, Edinburgh EH6 8LB, UK – 0131 656 9900
Great service from this local family business. Needed some brake pads and oil for my van. Didn't need to order or wait just popped into their depot on Leith and picked up the parts. Great service at an affordable price.
Always used pentland from way back, usually the old veiwforth branch but over the years I've always had good service at pentland.
91 Lauriston Pl, Edinburgh EH3 9JB, UK – 0131 229 3410
Great tyre shop (and batteries) right in the middle of Edinburgh. Great price for tyres - had mine done today and bought a battery a few weeks ago. Excellent service. Very convenient if you live centrally or even if you just need things done it you're in the city.
John's fantastic, the only place I get my tyres. It's good to keep small business open like this. John's just as well priced as the major brands and you get a one 2 one service instead of just an in and out. Plus you get to help the wee businesses not just throw more money to the big brands. Same tyres, same if not better price and much better service!
75A Restalrig Rd S, Edinburgh EH7 6LE, UK – 0131 661 0946
Work done to a great standard. Had wiring/auxiliary lights and reverse sensors fitted. Its a shame the place is so far away from me as I'd have something every other month for Sean to do. As with everything, I had a cheap Chinese product and it failed which is nobody's fault but my own. Will be taking my car there to get the ECU taken out and remapped also.
I asked for an upgrade for the system in my van. Excellent result and for a great price too. Definitely will use again in the future.
Bonnington Rd, Edinburgh EH6 5PY, UK – 0131 554 5559

We asked for help getting a plug socket working. Help arrived promptly. Quick response and good communication. Excellent service and working again within minutes. Would definitely recommend for any work. Many thanks and merry Christmas.
Many thanks again to Mark and his team for a seamless engagement to replace electric shower and deal with all aspects of upgrading power supply to meet current regulations. Mark sets an enviable professional standard by regularly communicating progress of jobs, answering queries swiftly and delivering jobs on time and on budget (this job actually completed slightly under budget thanks to Mark's knowledge and expertise)! I look forward to working with EICR Edinburgh again in the near future.
Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH6 5BX, UK – 0131 553 2126
Absolutely stellar service. I rang up to arrange to bring my elderly television in, and when I described the problem, Paul told me what the issue was likely to be, and what it would be likely to cost to put right. When I brought it in, he looked at it for less than a minute, saw that it was in 'deep standby', turned it on for me, explained what had happened and why, and refused to take any payment. He also offered me a free second-hand remote control. I chose to bring my telly there because of the brilliant reviews he had received, and he definitely deserves every one of those positive reviews. Although there was nothing actually wrong with my telly, it's not something I could have done myself, and I would have been perfectly happy to pay him for his expertise, but he wouldn't take anything. I'm completely delighted, and recommend him wholeheartedly. He clearly knows his stuff and it's fantastic to find someone who could have taken the telly in and charged a lot of money, but didn't. I'd give him ten stars if I could.
Always friendly, helpful and extremely competent. Have used them on several occasions. Highly recommended!

Great company. Was like a gold mine finding this place. Had a water damaged amp on my Audi b8 b&o system. This lot sorted my amp to brand new condition can’t fault them at all. Great prices and great service 5* guys. I’m from greenock so I posted my amp up and they sorted it and posted it back in no time 5 ***** again. Thanks a lot all use at Bose expert repair 👌🏼
Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish Thank you Chris My Audi TT Bose amplifier was suffering from various sound issues and Chris promptly sorted all. Excellent support on the phone, fast communication by email and a speedy first class service on the Bose amplifier. I can't rate this company enough and HIGHLY recommend to anyone. Very satisfied customer
38 Seafield Rd E, Edinburgh EH15 1ED, UK – 0131 549 9790
I’ve had some problems with the car since I got it, I’ve had to run about a bit partly due to working from home. However in terms of the sale and eventual fixes to issues which to be honest are crucial they have all been sorted and agreed. Cant fault that. Only issue is in aftersales and taking ownership of issues to make it easier for the customer hence 4/5. Although I can’t fault the integrity of the sales side.
I only bought my new car today and from start to finish the whole experience has been first class William Welsh was great he answered all my questions arranged a test drive there and then sorted my finance called me when he said he would and made sure I was happy. I have no reason to believe there will be any problems but I feel confident if there was will would sort it I know I’m going to enjoy my new car
Summerside Pl, Edinburgh EH6 4PA, UK – 07518 984863
Just bought an A3 s-line from Mandi... cars immaculate inside and out especially for having done 92000 miles. Was very helpful in getting the process through. I would likely go back when done with this one and looking for next car.
Nice place, very professional.
67 Salamander St, Edinburgh EH6 7JZ, UK – 0131 554 9969
We had the great pleasure of dealing with Keith recently whilst looking for a new car. He was very relaxed and has a very no pressure approach to sales. He was more than happy to let us take the car out for a test drive by ourselves for as long as we wanted and got the small issues we found with it sorted in no time at all before we picked it up. On top of that he gave us a very fair deal on our trade in. You never know what you're going to get when you walk into a second hand dealer, but the reviews here speak volumes compared with competitors. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and his team at all. Edit: We since had a small issue within the 30 days and again Keith and his team have been absolutely brilliant in regards to getting it fixed for us. We couldn't recommend them more.
Recommended to me by my highly trusted garage, this company didn't disappoint. I see a car as just a means of transport, rarely buy and generally have little idea! Keith and Colin made the process as painless as it could be for someone like me! And when my garage (who know me quite well) advised me my first choice was probably not appropriate for me, they could not have been more helpful and flexible in letting me change my mind. I'm left feeling confident I've made a good purchase.
77-87 Ferry Rd, Edinburgh EH6 4AQ, UK – 0131 553 5996
Unfriendly staff. Very convenient
pretty convenient petrol station if you are around the north end of edinburgh
7 Seafield Rd, Edinburgh EH6 7LE, UK – 0131 553 8958
Fuel usually a couple of pence more expensive than the supermarkets. A pain to exit if you are turning right, towards salamander street
This place sells petrol and diesel. You can wash your car here too and fill your tyres with air. Amazing you can find all these things in one location. If you're peckish the also have a variety of overpriced sandwiches.
226 Willowbrae Rd, Edinburgh EH8 7NG, UK – 07834 932920
Fuel price ok, queued a bit longer as there seems to be shoppers because it's a big shop. Also no car wash.
Just another petrol station. Decent shop.
23 Canonmills, Edinburgh EH3 5HA, UK – 0131 557 0556
A truly splendid and magnificent place to stop off if you find that your motor-car is in need of a topping-up with fuel. These delightful people will be only too happy to help, and indeed, you are invited to dispense the petrol or diesel from pump to car by your own fair hand and at your discretion, putting in as much or as little as you yourself may deem necessary
Pricey petrol, but they have a wee M&S here which is great for last-minute quick dinners.
126-128 Restalrig Rd, Abbeyhill, Edinburgh EH7 6UW, UK – 0131 467 7141

A good man. Knows his stuff. Not overpriced either. Recommended!
Top mechanic, and very nice guy. Honest and fair. Did a great job servicing my bike. Really fast turn around too. Will definitely be going back.
22 Manderston St, Edinburgh EH6 8LY, UK – 07711 937019
I was really impressed with Tyler’s work on my BMW. He was extremely thorough, uncovered some issues I had not noticed, did a really professional job and ensured everything was perfect. I felt totally confident in the work - and immediately afterward did a 700 mile round trip to Wales and back in hideous weather. The bike ran smoothly throughout. I’m going to use North Motorcycles regularly from now on.
I own a BMW R1150R - Rockster / Edition 80 I was at Edinburgh at the time, and getting ready to relocate for my seasonal job at the Highlands, Scotland I had issues with my ABS braking system at the time, and due to the remoteness and long millage that I will be doing when at the Highlands, I wanted the bike to be in a very good condition before I begin my trip there I came across Tyler (the motorcycle mechanic) by coincidence. I was out and about visiting different garages, searching for a good mechanic, when I came across him A new face in town, with hopes to establish himself I liked him from the very beginning. He had an easy going approach, pleasant to have a conversation with and was very knowledgeable and honest My trust came when I entered his garage, and before even speaking with him, my eye caught two vintage motorcycles sitting aside, which were fully refurbished by him from scratch. Beautiful bikes and very well maintained I remember telling myself, this must be a knowledgeable mechanic considering the work that he has done on these two vintage bikes Decided to give him the assignment and hoped for the best I gave him a budget that I was comfortable with, and asked him to treat my bike as if it was his own He did just that. He remained within my budget, fully informed me what had to be done upfront before beginning any work, he remained within the time frame that I gave him, did an excellent work, and most importantly he was very pleasant to deal with and honest at all times He works hard, his very good in what he does, his pleasant and his honest For these reasons I would recommend him, and I will certainly use him again for myself in the future I consider myself lucky that I came across him, when I was in need for someone I am confident that on the long run he will do well in his line of business, and I sincerely wish him all the best, as good people should always be supported These are my sincere thoughts Hope that all the above helps with choosing the right mechanic Fotis

I had an accident in September 2017, where I was hit from behind by a car and both myself and my bike ended up in a ditch. I cannot recommend Motorcycle Law enough for all their help and assistance, from start to finish. Carrie Burrows made the whole process as simple as possible explaining everything along the way and keeping me up to date at every step. First class, friendly service
I had an accident in May 2016 where I collided with a car that hadn't given way. A former instructor pointed me in the direction of Motorcycle Scotland who spoke very highly of them. I have to say I didn't have a clue what I was doing but Brenda and Carrie walked me through every step of the way, explaining each step as it progressed, extremely helpful! My claim was settled in around 18 months due to my injuries, but well worth the wait! If I had the need to use their services again I wouldn't hesitate to get in contact.

Grab a literary bargain in Oxfam Books - a wonderful and inexpensive resource for book lovers of all tastes. There's a great Scottish section where you'll find books about Scottish history, art, poetry and places and you can usually find work by some of Scotland's best novelists. Of course all books are donated so stock will always vary. Kid's books are often to be found and there are usually some collectors' pieces for sale. Include a visit among a trawl of Stockbridge's many nearby charity shops, not forgetting Oxfam Music just across the road.
Great little charity book shop! It was smaller than I hope it would be but the books are in good condition and have reasonable prices (the academic books a bit less)
106 Nicolson St, Edinburgh EH8 9EJ, UK – 0131 668 2288
A nice second hand shop with friendly staff. I always pop in when I'm in the area.
Always good to help others. Can find a real bargain.
29-31 Deanhaugh St, Edinburgh EH4 1LR, UK – 0131 343 1771
This is a great little store. very thoughtfully presented in more of a boutique style than some of the other charity shops in town. Staff are always lovely and helpful. Just got a great pair of Zara jeans for £7 last time I was in. Well worth a look anytime you're in Stockbridge
Scored a pair of binoculars for £7 in here once. Bargain!

151 Comely Bank Rd, Edinburgh EH4 1BH, UK – 0131 332 2073
Summary: Tiny but friendly dispensing chemist. Stocked with little more than essentials, this tiny Boots store is a dispensing chemist, so useful for local parents dropping their kids at the local schools, though many prefer the convenience of the nearby chemist in the Waitrose instead. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the service swift, and the store clean and well presented. So, it's not hard to recommend the outlet, for all the stock levels leave much to be desired.
10-12 Hamilton Pl, Edinburgh EH3 5AU, UK – 0131 225 1242
Great shop. The woman who runs it knows her stuff and was very helpful. I was buying shoes for my son.
Great service, nice range of shoes and very helpful staff who understand kids. Hairdressers are also great
46 St Stephen St, Edinburgh EH3 5AL, UK – 07842 798482
My kids call it ‘mummy’s favourite shop’ and it’s true. Not only do Bon Tot have an amazing collection of children’s wear, toys and clothes for me too. The service from Kris is 1st class. If I’m in with the kids she whips them away to draw, chat or feed the shop dog Frisco so that I can shop and if I’m shopping solo we have the best chats. I just hope that they keep expanding their size range as my kids grow.
Best kid’s shop in Scotland. The coolest brands, the warmest service and a really fun environment- my favourite place to shop for my little one!
Seafield Rd E, Edinburgh EH15 1TB, UK – 0333 004 4444
A very massive Matalan store with a variety of clothing lines to choose from. Although I must say it is difficult for first time visitors to find their way into the car park, i recommend using a Satelite navigation system for this. The reason i am giving 3 stars is because it has a very depressing atmosphere inside the store which in my opinion affects the shopping experience. Other than that, good stylish clothes to choose from.
Great choice of clothes for all the family plus bedding, linen etc and other household wares. Good prices too. You need to get a Matalan card to shop there.
100 George St, Edinburgh EH2 3DF, UK – 0131 220 4343
I was very well looked after. A proper tailor shop where they don't just sell you a suit. They measure you and help with styles to match your shape and look. Then they tailor the suit before you collect it. They have an awesome range. I ended up buying four excellent quality suits for an amazing price. I left feeling special and my suits give me that feeling every workday when I wear them. This is where I will buy all my suits going forward.
Amazing service! Walked in, barely used the measuring tape and put my OH in a suit that fitted perfectly. Exactly what he said he was looking for style-wise and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Superb, quality goods store. I have purchased a grand fisherman Symmetrical jumper, made by Andersen-Andersen. Also purchasing a Filson Alaskan shirt. The staff are hugely knowledgeable about the products and appear to produce little waste.
35 Dundas St, Edinburgh EH3 6QQ, UK – 0131 556 5554
One of the most excellent online shopping experiences I ever had - ordered an item on one day (from Berlin, Germany) around noon and got it the other day even before noon. Outstanding!
Beautiful shop - fantastic range of clothes and cashmere, beautiful contemporary styles, and cashmere designed and made in Scotland. Also shoes and accessories. I urge you to check this shop out!

As my company grew it became obvious that my computers are the life blood of my business and I’d be crippled without them. I’m certainly no IT whiz so, on recommendation, I approached CANS to see what they could do for me. I told them what I had and where I wanted my company to go. They offered me a package to suit my current and future requirements and a quote that was well under what I had budgeted for. I signed up and they delivered well ahead of time. I was stunned. So much so that I decided to commission them to build and maintain our website. And, if that wasn’t enough, they were also able to offer me an impressive telecommunications package that couldn’t be refused. I have always found their engineers to have a professional, friendly, empathetic and reassuring manner. Any IT problems I have had are rapidly resolved and explained to me in my terms - plain facts and solutions, no jargon. Our new server and computers run faster than ever, if I accidentally delete something they can restore it, I never lose internet access and our funky new website looks great. They even monitor everything remotely so if something goes wrong they have it fixed before I even know about it! I’m especially impressed by the savings I’ve made on our telephone calls. My IT and telecommunications are in safe hands with CANS and therefore so is my business. Highly recommended.
We have used CANS services since May of this year and they continue to go the extra mile. Ross and his team have successfully migrated all of our files to the cloud and Office 365 is now allowing our business real flexibility. Three PC’s have also had Windows 10 Pro upgrades and our network is now up to date without the expense of new hardware. Sensible advice and quick responses to any issues we raise are why we would not hesitate to recommend them - Graham Davidson, General Manager.

Listened to issues with my wife's laptop, suggested a solution and quoted the costs. Returned two days later, as promised. Now works better than when first purchased. Thank you.
I would highly recommend User2. I have used them on a number of occasions and the service is first class. Being a local computer shop it’s easy to pop in and get their expertise on any issues I have, nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

I was looking for Toner cartridges for a Laser Printer so phoned Capital Cartridges and told them what I was looking for and they called me back promptly with a competitive price. Delivery was arranged direct to me which cut out a journey to Edinburgh. Paid by debit card job done . I prefer to shop local even if its by phone or email. A good small business giving their customer an excellent service . I would definetly recommend Capital Cartridges for your cartridge supplies.
Been using Capital Cartridges few years now and always a polite and efficient service and delivery service a real bonus. Raymond

The professors here (for my program at least) were great! But then the strike came and it showed me how little the school cares about the students. They have done nothing to help us out and we were left to complete our degree on our own. On top of that, the student accommodation is overpriced. Good luck getting anyone here to actually care about your education.
Good stafffs, good faculty members. The only complaint is the material of its certificate which is too thin and does not look classy at all, try using a thicker paper please.

Excellent facilities, and a great training course. Not just developers here. All staff were very feiendly and supportive. Well worth the money. ArcGIS Pro is highly intuitive and worth implementing now.

I’ve used Flying Computers twice. The first time was a battery replacement for my 4S around 2012/13, the second was a home button replacement for my trusty old 5S today. Service was quick and friendly. The repair was estimated to be 15 mins. It was completed in around 10. The price was very reasonable. I would have no hesitation in using the shop again.
Great service, great price and honest staff with lots of knowledge and skills. Down side, they are closed on the weekend.
91 Easter Rd, Edinburgh EH7 5PW, UK – 07803 341338
My laptop was completely dead. He fixed it in no time at all (maybe couple of hours), hardly charged anything. And now it is way!!! Way better then it was before. I hardly recommend him!
Excellent speedy service. Fixed my audio amplifier, serviced laptop, & I recently asked these guys to build a custom PC which is working well for it's intended purpose. Very reasonable prices, useful advice, guaranteed work & laid back attitude. Recommended

Friendly staff. I was pleasantly surprised by the diversity of products. Shouldn't be hard to find something nice for every taste and budget.
I can't compliment the gift shop enough for their extraordinary, friendly and timely service in helping me order an item. They were wonderfully helpful and patient with my order (which was complicated by the fact that I live in the US). Thank you!

At The Works, you will always find something unique from educational products to beautiful collection of gifts. I love the works and will be shopping soon again for Easter.

Excellent service. This shop has all an artist needs to buy.
117 Ferry Rd, Edinburgh EH6 4ET, UK – 0131 554 8943
Although this might not be the best Café in Edinburgh in terms of quality of coffee or when it comes to the offered pastries (or lack thereof), this is a great place for families. The staff is always friendly and Prices are fair, which makes it affordable for every family. It is nice to have a Café in which you can just sit down and play with your child(ren), whilst having a coffee. There are various activities every day of the week and parents can also get helpful advice on topics like breastfeeding and nap times.
1A, Exchange Place, Fountainbridge, Edinburgh EH3 8BL, UK – 0131 255 0500
I have had absolutely fantastic customer service and banter from this store. I really feel like the guys there go out of their way to make sure they understand your needs and find the product / service for you. I recently needed a new saddle and fortunately Kirsty came and offered me some help. She teaches yoga and does an anatomy course on the side so was ridiculously knowledgeable about picking the right saddle(and really nice). I was in tonight picking it up and one of the mechanics Tomasz fit it for me really quickly and tweaked my bike in a few ways. This store and its staff are brilliant! P.S. they price match also which is wicked!
Inconsistent service. Was there about a month ago selecting a pair of spinning shoes. It wasn’t until I was handed over to Richie that I felt like this was someone wanting to help and took the time to answer questions about my Cube modifications which led me to spend more in accessories which I would not have done. Richie is one of your best people- great service knowledgeable and helpful!
Lothian, 71 Morrison St, Edinburgh EH3 8BU, UK – 0131 228 8104
Great staff and service. Over the years I have had my bike serviced at several places in Edinburgh but this is by far the best yet :)
Always super helpful and really good prices. If you’re not a bike conisseur (and do stupid stuff to your bike) they’re never snobby about your lack of knowledge. All super friendly! Couldn’t recommend more.
276 Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH6 5BX, UK – 0131 467 7775
Just had my bike serviced here. Really impressed with the work and the customer service. The guy only sold me exactly what I needed (even pointing me to a cheaper service), explained everything, and answered all my questions. Really helpful! Will definitely be coming back and have recommended to all my friends.
Good service, nice guys. Good local bike shop, got booked in and my back break fixed inside 48 hours.

There is simply not anywhere near enough space here to even begin to describe my many varied experiences in and around the area of Leith Walk and in particular the shop know as Home Essentials. Vital Home Essentials provides every essential item for the home. From the semi holographic Elvis pictures to brooms and everything in between, this is the shop that drives the dynamic pulsating social hub that is Leith! This is where I met the man with an orange for a head. They also sell great advent candles in January, which is when all good satanists celebrate the coming of the lord. Today I was rudely ambushed by the God of the broken shoelace whilst I was on my way to film a documentary about mental health. Who was the angel that appeared to save me on a Sunday from such a predicament, Jesus? Jehova? A Mormon? Buddha? Nope! None of them batted so much as an eyelid as I was almost taken to the hell gods realm; forever to be tormented by broken shoelaces. The angel that came to my rescue was Vital Home Essentials. These people deserve to be worshiped. And I can now confirm that they do sell shoelaces in red and blue as well as the more conventional for Leith which is black and white. Most films that are shot in Leith are in the black and white format. But I digress, would you like to know more about how I met the man with an orange for a head?
Truly has everything vital for the home.

The guy behind the counter was so helpful. Matched the price of another tool hire place and when I returned one of the tools having not used it he refused to charge me for it. Good old fashioned customer service! Highly recommended.
Manager Paul is really helpful gets everything sorted no problem
58 Craigentinny Ave N, Edinburgh EH6 7LJ, UK – 0131 554 1144
I'm a keen DIYer and have used this branch several times in recent years. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are ok, but website is quite unfriendly and doesn't display prices unless you're a registered user.

The British Heart Foundation were the first charity shops to Gift Aid their donations to get extra money by claiming the tax back from the donor. This is located near Caledonian Crescent street in Haymarket
5a Duke St, Edinburgh EH6 6AE, UK – 0131 341 3023
This is a wonderful charity store with super friendly and welcoming staff and with lots of good quality, and sometimes exceptional quality furniture and accessories. Definitely worth perusing if you are after something for your home and are happy to purchase something "used".
Fantastic place in every way. There's a fair bit of new/expensive stuff here compared to Dalry road. Shipping is also more expensive here. But worth checking out.

We were really thrilled with our wedding flowers and have had a huge amount of very positive comments about the beautiful arrangements on the day. I was particularly pleased with my bouquet and am really grateful for the way in which Garlands effortlessly accommodated my request for sunflowers, presenting a very personal yet very pretty bouquet. Garlands provided a very professional, hassle free and friendly service. It is a huge relief when planning a wedding when you feel you can have 100 % confidence in those you are working with, and we most certainly felt that with Garland's.
Ordered flowers for my mums birthday they were spectacular and lasted lot longer than others I’ve purchased elsewhere
6 Rodney St, Edinburgh EH7 4EA, UK – 0131 556 9623
Fioritalia did my wedding flowers last month and I was totally delighted with them! Giovanni was really helpful and took the time to discuss all my many questions. They created my bouquet, the bridesmaids bouquets (pictured below), the buttonholes for the men, and a foliage canopy in the church - all of which were stunning. I didn't have a set idea of what kind of flowers I wanted, but gave a budget and colour scheme which Fioritalia worked to. The flowers they delivered on the day totally exceeded my expectations. I would 100% recommend them as wedding florists!
Very helpful and arrived extremely quickly. Would definitely recommend.
14 Montagu Terrace, Edinburgh EH3 5QX, UK – 0131 552 0244
I called at 13:05 on Mothers Day (last minute I know, I know!) and they pulled together two bouquets of flowers for my mother and also my grandmother for same day delivery - amazing! Life savers - would HIGHLY recommend!
Wow. The service is exceptional. Very Impressed... the flowers are stunning! Thank you Elliott Clark Flowers!!

As soon as you entered this cozy shop run by Italians, my wife and I immediately breathed the air of home! Local products and delicatessen on the ground floor and restaurant / bar on the first floor. Excellent food, polite and friendly staff. Highly recommended!!!
Very helpful staff, I'm pretty clueless about fine cheeses and meats but they were able to put together a great selection for me

Great food and very friendly staff :)

I placed an order for 10 boxes of Artichoke Tea with Real Foods as it was a good price and I didn't have to pay postage. I got in to it in Vietnam. It's good for digestion. But it's not easy to find in the UK so I was delighted when I found Real Foods sold it. Shortly after I ordered I received an email saying they only had 8 boxes in stock and I could either just take the 8 boxes, but would have to pay postage as it brought me below their postage threshold, or wait until the could send all 10. As one of the reasons I had ordered with them was the free postage I chose to wait until they could deliver all 10 boxes and was pleasantly surprised that within a day or so they confirmed they could ship the full order which arrived yesterday, Saturday afternoon. Wonderful! they had said 2 working days so I had expected Monday or Tuesday. I would definitely use Real Foods again, and this would have been a 5 * but for the email that they couldn't deliver in full. Many thanks!
I order the Chicory regularly now as a perfect substitute for coffee. The quality of the product is outstanding. I love it! The service is perfect too: prompt delivery with regular updates about tracking, really well packaged and great value for money. Real Foods/Chicory was recommended to me by a friend and I must say I'm a big fan.
40 Hanover St, Edinburgh EH2 2DR, UK – 0131 225 4291
Nice wee shop with very helpful, approachable staff. Stocks some hard-to-find vegan favourites like Nutcrafter cheese, Sghaia mheats, and Booja-Booja chocolates.
Great selection of supplements and health foods, and amazing and knowledgeable staff that will help you to find the right thing.
8 Nicolson St, Edinburgh EH8 9DH, UK – 0131 557 5534
A gem for fans of middle eastern cooking. The owner is very knowledgeable and happily gives free samples. Tried some lovely sage tea.
Really good greek yogurt, a huge selection of infusions and teas, really good selection of powder species. Really good place for natural food
20a Inverleith Row, Edinburgh EH3 5LR, UK – 0131 248 2901
We visited the Royal Botanic Gardens in the Autumn, my favourite time to visit Edinburgh! So many golden brown trees, plants and plenty of wildlife. We also visited the huge Victorian tropical house which is beautiful from the outside and adorned with rare and exotic plants from orchids, succulents, cacti and more. The fish pond is also a great spot to sit and reflect!
Beautiful and amazing variety of plants and trees from around the world! We spent all afternoon here. Lovely, tranquil and informative way to spend our afternoon!!
22A Seafield Rd, Edinburgh EH6 7LF, UK – 0131 553 6565
Great service from the lads, it was delivered when specified , the quality of the wood is first class , and the Security pack was very reasonable
Drew was extremely helpful when I explained the problems I was having with another company. He came to look at my shed immediately, quoted me a price, arranged for the work to be done the following day and it was carried without any fuss. I am more than satisfied.
41 Tower St, Edinburgh EH6 7BN, UK – 0131 561 1332
Managed to get a decent EC meter and propagation cubes for my orchid and carnivorous plants collection. Friendly and helpful staff!
Very convenient. Staff are helpfully. Only downfall is some things are over priced and no discounts for long term customers.
78 Princes St, Edinburgh EH2 2ER, UK – 0131 220 0507
Very good customer service. They take time to mentor you through. Highly recommend them
The staff here are brilliant, very friendly and helpful. Ended up buying the wedding rings from here while living in London because the service/experience was just sooo much better!

Wow what an experience - my son was looking for a watch the staff were really helpful and made it a great shopping experience, relaxing and enjoyable chatting to us both - I got so carried away with it all i even bought a very nice watch! - The manager Brian is very good and an exceptional salesman beware (in nice way)
Would highly recommend them to anyone. Due to family issues and my partner/fiance being deployed to the middle East I was put under pressure to chose an engagement ring and I am a very indecisive person. Brian the managed was wonderful. Assisted so well I tried so many different ring and never felt under pressure to choice. No sales pitches or pressured into choosing more expensive rings. Such a relaxed friendly personal atmosphere. Can not praise the staff and quality more. So over the moon with my ring and quality. The knowledge of detail they have on the products is wonderful. I did not buy my first visit and thought I wanted something different from what i got. I tried quite a few rings and left to have a think, 2 weeks later come back to try yet another style and was assisted so well again with no sales pitch no pressure and didn't feel as if I was a burden. Staff are so wonderful and give you every bit of attention and information you need without making you feel as if you are a burden. They are so attentive and respectful The quality is amazing but best of all is the personal relationship the staff make with the customers. I will be back for my wedding rings and will not look at another jewellers again. To top it all off they are also family friendly. Wonderful with kids. I could go on all day how impressed I am. So glad i didn't go for anything from the other stores I tried. Feel like I really did get the best value for money with a wonderful service. Looking forward to going back for the wedding rings because I know we will get what we want and given the time to really make a choice. Best jewellers around by far and best service I have ever had in a jewellers.
72 Rose St, Edinburgh EH2 2NN, UK – 0131 341 2063
Prices similar to competitors, but they offer student discount so that's what gets me inside. A fairly large range and big sized shop (not as large as in Liverpool though). Staff friendly, and helpful. Only issue being a couple things didn't have price labels so you would have to find/ask staff.
I find it very difficult to get boots, rucksack and hiking clothing which fit me, to the point where I've just been using stuff I've owned for years which isn't great, but at least I know what the problems are. But after two weekends of not-very-enjoyable hiking, feeling too hot, too wind-blown, and too wet, and constantly trying to adjust by taking things off and putting other things on and then off again, I decided to try Cotswolds (I normally shop at the less pricey Mountain Warehouse). And I'm glad I did: the lovely sales assistant, Sarah, listened really well to what I wanted and didn't want, and found several really good options which fit me and had the features I wanted, and she talked me through several rucksack options, discussing very knowledgeably all the features, and I'm really, really happy with my purchases. I went into the shop feeling I probably wouldn't find anything close to what I wanted - this has happened many times before - and I've come away feeling satisfied that the rucksack and jacket I bought are the best possible options for me. The shop has lots of good stock, but Sarah's help was crucial for me.
27-29 Frederick St, Edinburgh EH2 2ND, UK – 0131 225 7456
Its a small(ish) store but has a mezzanine level making it bigger than it looks. Friendly service when I visited.
E Mid priced shop with good quality kit. Good range of stuff on this two floor store.
41 Commercial St, Edinburgh EH6 6JD, UK – 0131 554 0804
Great variety & finding the prices are very competitive even in comparison to so called discount stores like Go Outdoors. The greatest perk for me is the knowledge of staff and want to help and advise. Last time I was there I was looking for a light weight tent for wild camping & a stove and they were more than happy to set the tents up I was interest in and then list of the perks & downfalls of each.
Great service and choice. Get a discount card...it pays off quite quickly. Cafe good too and not expensive
337 Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH6 8SD, UK – 0131 557 4666
Just so helpful w delivery and great natural foods for the cat/dog
Very good pet supplies shop and they sell some reptiles and small pets like guinnea pigs and rabbits. They have a vast array of cat toys and accessories like collars, catnip, toys etc. They even have 2 resident cats in the shop. Edinburgh's premier pet shop and has a long established reputation from the days they were based at the end of London Road.
134 Easter Rd, Edinburgh EH7 5RJ, UK – 0131 661 8011
Excellent and friendly service. I have never been disappointed and every time I went I found what I needed, whether it is for my hamster or more lately dog. The owner always has good advice and is clearly passionate about animals. Prices are very, very reasonable for a small pet shop and sometimes cheaper than major pet supermarkets. I don't understand how people would be disappointed by the place, unless you don't understand the meaning of local shops or you expect Disneyland.
Capital Pets provides a fantastic service. If they don't have it in stock, they will order it. If you need some advice, they can provide it. Donald is passionate and knowledgeable, friendly and obliging. I got my first dog five years ago and have been a loyal customer ever since. Now I have two and they love going to visit the shop. Considering the size of the shop, there is a pretty big range (as I say above, they can order just about anything that they don't have on the shelf and have it delivered in a few days), and things are extremely reasonably priced. If I shop elsewhere, I inevitably feel a little bit guilty now, but more importantly, I invariably find out I get a worse deal.
14 Deanhaugh St, Edinburgh EH4 1LY, UK – 0131 332 0899
Bought something in store then had to change it by post. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful, and even threw in an extra treat for the dog! Really excellent service.
Wee shop but ample stock, v friendly staff . Keep returning as staff polite, good knowledge of their wide range of products stocked. A handy notice board with usual notices and services like pet portraits! And our pooch expects! a free biscuit from the counter everytime...
129-130 Princes St, Edinburgh EH2 4AH, UK – 0343 777 1567
Your usual Sports Direct experience - too many items in too small a space... but cheap! Note though that they have really cleaned up the act in the last few years. I'm especially happy with the introduction of Firetrap in the collection.
Nice collection for all kind of sports wear from head to toe. You have different variety of products and brands you can choose from your likes. Price is also reasonable for most of products. Also if you want anything specific you can actully go online and order if not available at store or if available at store you can book it for your self. Also you get discounts when shopping online
108 - 110 Lothian Rd, Edinburgh EH3 9BE, UK – 0131 228 3444
This place is great. it was a Saturday and very busy but the staff member who helped me (Eilidh) honestly took 35 minutes to test out and compare lots of shoes on the treadmill with helpful advice and was never impatient or hurried. The shoes are more expensive than you'd pay online, but I think it's very worth it for a rare level of customer care. Nice job guys.
Staff spent A LONG time with me analysing my gait and helping me pick out my ultimate trainers. Being a novice to running, they gave me lots of good tips and advice. Definitely worth paying a little more for trainers in order to get their expertise if you’re new to the running game. Strongly recommend this business.
24-26 Coburg St, Edinburgh EH6 6HB, UK – 0131 553 6003
The best place to get cricket goods!! Bats were on excellent offers on best price. Cheaper than online prices. Special mention on the friendly staff who point you to the best product and even best offers.
Fantastic shop try to get all sports items from here, bought some skipping ropes and the burst did not have receipt and did not expect to get a new pair for free but "the guy" sorry did not get his name was very helpful on such a boring item and replaced them no problem. Would recommend everyone to go, so helpful and friendly.

Fantastic shop for stationery lovers. Excellent customer service who went above and beyond to find a solution for my query. Will definitely be back.
Wonderful neighbourhood stationery shop. Very good offering within the shop for personal or small business needs and, in my experience, any additional requirements can be delivered for the following morning. Mae provides a very helpful service.
7-11 Nicolson St, Edinburgh EH8 9BE, UK – 0131 668 1223
A stationery fan's dream! The staff are friendly and helpful without being pushy. A huge range of stationery items -if they don't have it, it probably doesn't exist!
Staff was extremely helpful when we needed some help, even with closing time fast approaching on New year's eve. Much appreciated.
Leith, 3-4 Newkirkgate Centre, Edinburgh EH6 6AA, UK – 0131 553 1815
Very friendly staff and very clean and tidy...
some of the service is good like the chit chat with the employees but they have no clue on what up selling and consumer relations are and should be trained better in consumerism, i was sold an item "refurb" and you have the same item brand new for 50 pence more a week "with a 4k ultra option" and your staff did not try to up sell me for the better product but rather let me go into the agreement which i found weird as you would think the employees would know whats on the website/in the shop etc so i was not happy they did not try to offer me the better product "which most stores" would try to sell me a better option, ill stick to my original agreement with the product im getting but not to happy that no one made me aware there were other better options at a slightly bigger price which would have been very acceptable to me and i would have gone into an agreement for the brand new product...

I originally found Richer Sounds through Amazon as I was looking for an amp to power two 100 watt vintage speakers my Dad bought in the 1970s. I spoke to a knowledgeable friend about the Amazon speakers and he suggested that I go into the Richer Sounds shop to get some advice. All in all a very good experience, it is quite a big ticket item for me so I was happy to make the purchase in the shop as I think I now have a product which I am comfortable will work well. Also, I have had a very nice email asking how everything has gone etc.
Honest advice from knowledgeable, professional and friendly staff coupled competitive prices on quality products makes Richer Sounds the best place for audio visual kit. Recently had a TV fail under warranty, no problems getting a credit note and good advice on choosing a replacement model. Would definitely recommend.

Ginger Snap did the catering for my 40th in 2007 and have just done the catering for my 50th. The food was delicious, the staff were really helpful and I would strongly recommend using them if you're looking for a caterer.
Ginger Snap catered for our wedding in Glasgow a few weeks ago and everything was beyond amazing! We have had so many guests contact us to say how impressed they were with not just the food ( I will come on to that later 😉), but how lovely your team were! They all struck just the right balance of friendliness and kindness, with outmost professionalism and excellent service practice. Nothing was too much trouble and they all really seemed to be enjoying themselves which is fantastic to see. Our event manager, Mary, was amazing! She made everything seem so effortless and is so much fun to work with! In short, Ginger Snap made whole process a complete joy! Last but by no means, least the food! Three weeks on from our wedding and people are still raving about the food. It was all absolutely delicious. Non-fish lovers are now converts thanks to our delicious sea bream main and a non-chocolate lover made a point of letting us know that they polished off the uber chocolatey dessert with glee! Those with special dietaries have also individually approached us to say how fantastic their meals were. A celiac friend was particularly impressed and said this was the first event in ages where she felt like she wasn't an inconvenience and that her meal was just as special and made with just as much care as everyone else's. I have lost count of the people who have said that this was the best wedding food they have ever had as well as a number of 'best wedding ever' comments. I could go on, but in a nutshell, Mary and her team played a huge part in making our wedding the best day of our lives and we can't thank them enough for that.

Mairi created beautiful bespoke stationery for our wedding - the entire suite of stationery (save the date, invitations, transport cards, dietary cards, Thank You cards) were beautiful. She listened to exactly what I wanted and the result was stunning. I received so many compliments and would go to Mairi for any other big occasions. She also created beautiful new baby cards for us and they were just as beautiful!
We ordered wedding invitations from Mairi to our own spec she is a lovely lady a true artist we were so impressed with the cards & her service. Support local crafts they are the best.

Great selection - possibly too great aselection for someone like me. Staff are helpful and the notes on the displays are a great help.
Great selection on wines from all over the world. Friendly and helpful staff are able to answer all your questions and make good recommendations. On this visit I noticed a whole shelf of various gins which seem to be the rave. They also offer free delivery.
