The University of Edinburgh

Old College, South Bridge, Edinburgh EH8 9YL, UK – 0131 650 1000

The professors here (for my program at least) were great! But then the strike came and it showed me how little the school cares about the students. They have done nothing to help us out and we were left to complete our degree on our own. On top of that, the student accommodation is overpriced. Good luck getting anyone here to actually care about your education.

Good stafffs, good faculty members. The only complaint is the material of its certificate which is too thin and does not look classy at all, try using a thicker paper please.

Edinburgh Java Tuition

20-6 Murano Pl, Edinburgh EH7 5HG, UK – 07419 898259

Excellent learning experience with a highly competent tutor who plans interactive personalized lessons to adapt the student's level of knowledge and studying pace, making sure there are no further gaps in knowledge. I found the training methods to be extremely helpful for me having managed to gain an entire academic year worth of knowledge in just two weeks before passing an exam and further on, when I decided to continue the training to advance my JAVA programming skills.

The Fruitmarket Gallery

45 Market St, Edinburgh EH1 1DF, UK – 0131 225 2383

Lovely gallery! It has exhibition of contemporary artists. They are always very interesting and, in my opinion peculiar - in the sense that it's not the usual things you normally find in the more "mainstream" places. I recently went to the Lee Lozano exhibition and it was really interesting. There was a good selection. It was well thought out. It also present things such as her notebooks, which helped me understand her art better. The information provided for the art - leaflets, videos, etc. - were relevant and exhausting. They also have many interesting events, too, such as free tours of the exhibition, etc. It's a smaller place then I thought it would be, but I really enjoyed it.

One of the most convivial places to meet near Waverley Station. Decent coffee and nice breakfasts (I always have the scrambled eggs - which is lovely). You've also got the gallery on hand if art is your thing. The one drawback is that it quickly fills up towards lunchtime and during the afternoon.

Palmerston House Educational Services

24 Palmerston Pl, Edinburgh EH12 5AL, UK – 0131 629 4343

We had a Family Programme prepared with an amazing attention to detail. A diversity of great activities for both adults and children were provided. Also, the language school we went to was awesome and suited our needs perfectly. If there was any problem or requirement it was dealt with very quickly. All in all, Palmerston House provided us with an unforgettable time and experience of Scotland.

Very much enjoyed my stay. A great course, with great people.

ECS Scotland

17 Young St, Edinburgh EH2 4HU, UK – 0131 226 5262

It was a great choice to have an English course in this school. I can appreciate the way of teaching English, excellent teachers and lovely family atmosphere. This course has given me a new energy to focus on studying English. Thanks to Niki, Lindsey and to all other teachers.

It was a beautiful time and I learned a lot. I felt very welcome and I would definitely come back one time. All the teachers are extremely friendly and helpful and I can say: my English improved during this two wonderful weeks. Thanks a lot for everything! And a very big thanks to my both lovely teachers :)

Dance For All

106 St Stephen St, Edinburgh EH3 5AQ, UK – 0131 226 5533

Dance for All have a great selection of dance classes for children, young people and adults. They have a brilliant attitude towards dance for children, none of the snobbiness or melodrama that I had encountered at other dance classes. They know that ballet for a 3 year old isn't a serious affair! The teachers are friendly and knowledgeable, and the place has the feel of a lovely old dance school from a Noel Streatfield novel.

The Open University in Scotland

10 Drumsheugh Gardens, Edinburgh EH3 7QJ, UK – 0131 226 3851

The OU gave me the opportunity to retrain in the field of computer science, while also working full-time and having a family, and I will be eternally grateful to them for this. The teaching and assessment have generally been of a high quality (although I think the OU could also adopt some of the things that make MOOCs work so well too, e.g. recorded lectures broken into 15 min segements), and I would recommend it to everyone.

Most of the biggest University the Open University of Scotland because the University of exercise facilities all over the student and international student first of all their huge biggest University in Europe

The Open University provides high-quality distance learning for people of all ages and educational backgrounds. The joy is that their courses not only can be completed at home but are modular and so make it possible to fit them around life's varying commitments! The OU also do research.

Generally it is quite extraordinary institution which many people thought would fail but actually has been an unqualified success since it was founded in 1969.
