This is a nice branch of Nationwide and offers a full-spectrum of services. The vestibule areas are always clean and the glass frontage makes for an attractive and bright space. With the range of machines available, one doesn’t need to queue to see a teller which is nice. Transport to the city centre is excellent and you can easily get to this branch. Would recommend Nationwide both as a building society and this branch specifically
Fantastic service! Myself and my wife went into this branch last week to do the refer a friend account transfer so we have a joint account together. We had exceptional service from Gavin Clearly! He was super efficient, friendly and very clear about the whole process. We had our 19 month old son with us and also had a time restriction as had parking running out on George street. Our son got quite frustrated as he wanted to run around, Gavin was so understanding and gave us such great customer service, highly recommended.

Really lovely and helpful staff. Rarely a wait. Also, they accept unlimited bags of coins (if they are sorted) at time of writing (Sept 2017).
They keep changing policies and its the customer that suffers.

The City Chambers was erected off the Royal Mile, quite deep that it is hard to notice. A quadrangle with a stone War Memorial and a bronze statue of Alexander The Great taming his horse Bucephalus precedes the edifice.
Once an official building now opened to public due to what lies beneath the City Chambers on the Royal Mile. It is deepest Edinburgh's secret - a warren of hidden streets where real people lived, worked and died between the 17th and the 19th centuries. It used to be closed to public due to belonging to being under official building and therefore off limits but now it is open to public! and what a fantastic tour it is. I think it was my highlight in Scotland. These underground closes and witness some of the dramatic episodes and extraordinary apparitions from this site's fascinating and historically rich past. Mary King's Close -Buried deep beneath Edinburgh's Royal Mile lies the city's deepest secret warren of hidden streets that has remained frozen in time since the 17th century.

Very professional and helpful staff. Would recommend it, no doubt!

I'm relocating to England but wanted to put in a review of this dental practice. My dentist is Nash and he's been absolutely great. Professional, friendly and reassuring. I'm a nervous patient but he's performed a few treatments for me and it's been a good experience. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Hygienist has also been good and given me great advice to keep my gums healthy.
I have been going to Meadowbank for over a year now. The staff are so pleasant and reassuring and the practice is professional and pristine. I see Dr Nashvin Padayachee who is a star. He puts you instantly at ease, is gentle and very informed. He gives you good explanations about the different treatment options and listens to your concerns. His treatment plans have been considered and completed to a very high standard and I have been delighted with the work he has done for me. He also remembers the last conversation that he had with you at your last appointment which I think shows how much he cares. Could not recommend the practice more highly, especially if you are nervous of the dentist.

After 10 year of being scared about going to the dentist, I bit the bullet and decided that I really need to go as I had a badly rotten tooth. Alastair is absolutely fantastic, and put me at ease straight away. After having one tooth extracted and a couple of filling done, I now feel my fear of the dentist is well and truly a thing of the past. Thank you to the whole team at New Town Dental Care. I highly recommend them 👏👏👏👏
I’ve been using New Town Dental Care for a few years now. The staff are very friendly and always helpful when fitting appointments in between your busy schedules. Margaret (hygienist) is delightful, very professional and talkative making you feel at ease. Derek (dentist) is also fantastic, very warm and welcoming. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Just recently moved to the area, and was fairly ominous about registering at the practice after reading alot of reviews but I can honestly say from my first encounter the staff receptionist included were all very polite and extremely helpful. I wanted to make an appointment after registering but was informed it takes two days to be registered. After explaining the situation the receptionist very kindly said she would get me registered so I could make an appointment the following day. The next day my appointment was made without fuss and I was seen by a very professional doctor.
I have been with this surgery all my life, almost 34 years. The original old doctors were amazing but they have now all retired or left. There are a couple of doctors there who are very helpful but like other reviews have said, the receptionists let the place down. They sound aggressive over the phone, answer you back face to face when I was nothing but polite. No need for this. Asking simple questions seem like an inconvenience. I have waited an hour and a half past my appointment time to find the receptionist hadn't marked me as waiting. This has happened twice that i can think of. I don't think I've ever been taken on time. 30 mins plus past your appointment time is normal but don't dare be 1 min late or the aggressive receptionist will have something to say! If the receptionists were as they should be then i would have gave 4 stars but i have instead given a generous 3 stars

Always lovely ladies at the reception. Fantastic doctors, midwives and nurses. So friendly and caring. I can't praise them enough. They all have been so good and kind to myself and my family. Yes sometimes is hard to get an apoitment but some people don't get how busy it can be and they have no understanding at all. Thank you all for looking after us over the last 3 years, so sad we have to change due relocating. You've been great to us.
It's an excellent surgery. Good doctors, good receptionists, good care

Excellent medical center Just moved here, registered new. But already was in need to use the complete service. My first impression and feeling about the entire Surgery is fabulous. 5 stars.
So much better than the old location, clean, modern and reception staff are great. Good surgery but busy so tough to get quick appointments.

it must be really difficult dealing with patients who are ill, feeling vulnerable, anxious, on edge and not at their best. Thanks for helping me, , and I'm sorry i judged you harshly, its not an easy job, sometimes i can't see that - i get so wound up and feel like the world is attacking me, i take everything personally. i feel like such a rude idiot, you guys deserve credit.
Wonderful windows and almost perfect front garden, all of the people who were sat out front seemed nice. They don't serve alcohol here, if you want a good pint avoid Lothian Road...

Very surprised to discover that I could review an office! I have to say that having worked in the building and having met my wife here I am happy to give a five star review. I suspect that some of the other reviews are for another location (St Mary's Cathedral is one candidate).
25 Nicolson Square, Edinburgh EH8 9BX, UK – 0131 662 8635
Venue was bright, well lit, books well displayed, volunteers welcoming. Cafe and toilet facilities very good. However the brightest star has to be reserved for the book pricing. It is so much easier for sorters, purchasers and counters to handle a limited range of prices. My only regret was I didn't come earlier in the week or get a chance to return (family commitments) a mistake I won't make next year, Elizabeth - wee wifey overdressed for the temperature!
This is a bright, white, friendly jewel of a place.

A fabulous place to relax and extremely well located. We recommend to walk through the gorgeous cemetery surrounding the church; such a peaceful and scenic place, with Edinburgh Castle just sitting on top.
Calm and quite...gorgeous with deeply warm energy A beautiful piece of history...
Fillyside Rd, Edinburgh EH7 6RD, UK – 0131 529 3030
I have always found most of the staff here very helpful. However, I tried to phone direct about something and was sent to a general council number and put on one of the council's interminable loops of numbers to press - none of which were relevant to my query. A direct number and a person to speak to would be far more useful.
Helpful staff! Nice layout. Very quick

This place has been different restaurants over the years and there's been a few Thai ones but this is the best. The dining room is very cosy with exposed stone walls and low ceilings. The building was built in the 1600's though! We had the lunch menu, which is great value. The spring rolls were tasty and the pastry was really thin and crispy. The chicken satay was juicy and the sauce very tasty. I had the battered fillet of sea bass for a main, which was excellent. The batter was crispy and the vegetables that came with it are all well cooked and great with the sauce. My wife has the red Thai curry which she said was very good. I'm glad this place is back to its best and will hopefully be back soon.
Family dinner. Recommend for taste, the minced chicken is the standout dish. Spoiled a bit when a large party took over the small restaurant and service for those of us left deteriorated. In all fairness its a small family style place so serving a big party must have been a stretch. All the dishes were wholesome but they not for big appetites. The rice served "for one" was barely enough, we needed 6 for 4 of us. I think they spend a lot of time and money on presentation and the dishes are spectacular. But £100 for 4 with no drinks other than water is quite pricey. We left still a bit hungry.
Greenside Place, Edinburgh EH1 3AA, UK – 0131 557 0808
Very good variety of food. From starters to desserts. Chefs making dishes on request and unlimited soft drinks included in the price. This is very good value for money. The atmosphere is also very nice and well decorated. Self service place but all interactions I had with the waiter were pleasant.
This is a lovely big restaurant. It is a buffet style doing Chinese Indian Mexican Italian & Carvery. The staff are all very pleasant. They have lots of different desserts to, plus a chocolate fountain. It is open from 12 noon. Prices are very good. You could spend a few hours just taking your time to try the different types of food. Booking is advisable. You also get 25%of parking, which is really good to. Well worth a visit you won't be disappointed.
192 Rose St, Edinburgh EH2 4AZ, UK – 0131 225 3636
Lots of restaurants in this part of Edinburgh and this one undoubtedly kept busy with drop-ins considering the great reviews on several sites. The reviews are well deserved. Local produce and unpretentious, great tasting food. Mussels were fresh and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Servers are very friendly and prices are OK. The restaurant is small and it seemed that the servers spent quite a bit of time turning people away or asking them to return later. Where they could squeeze people in, they did. Good selection of wines and regional bottled beers. The front of the restaurant doesn’t have the sunny side of the street during the Summer afternoon/early evening so this keeps the drinkers away. You can join them later if you wish.
Walked in on spec and how happy were we. Fantastic starters of the Mussel's and King prawns followed by the Lamb and Bean casserole along with the Chicken dish. Absolutely gorgeous. Staff were all friendly. Would highly recommend and will go back next time we are in town.

My daughter has attended Palmerston place for a little over a year and the only words I can say to the staff are “thank you” for helping us grow a happy and self confident child who likes dancing and singing! Although childcare in Scotland is not always affordable, this group of girls have gone above and beyond for our little angel, and we will be forever grateful! You are absolutely fantastic!
Our child has been here for two years. He's very happy. We love the staff. Lots of fun activities. Great location.

I attended Broughton High School from1953-1958 I realise what a great education I received there I was in the choir and we performed in the Messiah in the Usher Hall.I was also on the field hockey team I have travelled to many countries and I find especially in North America how badly educated the People are .They seem to know nothing of the rest of the world and live in their own little bubble E.g. Questions I have been asked UK is only England Where is Scotland Do you have a king or president How long did it take you to learn English
I've gone to this school for a year I am a Hungarian student here and I just can say it is a better place than my former school. The children are kinder, funnier and more helpful than the Hungarians (generally, of course). Or are they only typical Scottish people? Actually I do not know but I feel great here :) The teachers were really nice at the beginning and they are still. They were really understanding and they asked about Hungary and our traditions; they were very curious :D But there is a little problem: the school's appearance. That is horrible. I think it looks like a monastery what has made from stone in the 19th century. But overall I like this place :)

I left Stockbridge Primary School in 2013, and I can honestly, hand on heart say that it was the best thing that ever happened to me, I genuinely miss it with every beat of my heart and I wish I could have back all the days, memories and happiness I had when I was at Stockbridge. The small classes were amazing and my class felt more like a family. I am now an S3 student studying for my nationals, and I still miss Stockbridge every day, it felt like home to me and turned me into a happy, confident, hardworking kid and I am so so so so grateful for everything the school and the staff did for me! I feel like crying writing this I love it there so much! It's such a special place and I would do anything to spend just one more day there, with my old class. Love and miss this place, Stockyb is the best and if you're reading this, SEND YOUR KID THERE, it'll be the best decision you ever make.
I go to this school
